My essays are great, and I had an awesome interview at Bowdoin.

So, how do you think my chances are? I love Bowdoin, and would be extremely excited to attend.

Don’t hold your breath. My daughter’s stats were much higher than yours both GPA and SAT and ACT (her composite was a 34), and the best she got was the waiting list at Bowdoin. I would be working my essays for other schools if I were you to apply RD to other schools.

I disagree. Even if you submit them, SAT scores are hardly the most important element of your application, and your GPA alone doesn’t tell anyone the whole story. Rock the essays. I had a very comparable application to yours (3.75 UW, 2090 submitted) and here I am as a non-recruited freshman. You definitely have a shot. That being said, anything can happen in the admissions committee at a place like Bowdoin. Good luck!

I applied regular decision. I did submit my SAT scores (670 CR 720 M 700 W) and 3 SAT IIs with similar scores. I was pretty active in high school with jazz, MUN, student government, etc and had a lot of outdoor work experience but not a ton of community service. I heard from admissions later that they really liked my essays. I also took as many APs as I could (9) and did really well on almost all of them. Being from Maine may have given me a slight boost but other than that nothing amazing.
