My Chances for Engineering Schools

I already posted this a few weeks back, but I have since rewritten my profile much more detailed. I am interested in the major engineering schools, and I plan to apply to many schools.

Tests:
SAT I: Verbal: 710 Math: 760 Writing: 790
SAT II: Physics 800 Math IIC 800

Unweighted GPA: 3.55
Weighted GPA: 4.11

Extracurricular:

Marching Band

Math Team (likely president next year)

Science Olympiad (likely captain next year)

Drama Club

Film Society

Volunteered at local Jewish Community Center and soup kitchen

This summer, I will be doing research at either:
-Colombia's GECo lab, doing astrophysics research
or
-The GARCIA Lab at SUNY Stonybrook doing Material Sciences research

Building website for anti-drug coalition

Built website for school's counseling department

Ham Radio Technician Class License (will get General class over summer)

Former Moderator of Larger (10,000+ members) computer forum

invented and distributed new Ringtone (commended by New York State)

Independently studying Math and Physics

Awards and Recognitions:

5th Place individual - Nassau Math Tournament - County

10th Place team - Nassau Math Tournament - County

National Merit Semifinalist (most likely because I got a 225)

Spanish Honor Society

I attended a private school for the gifted that had an IQ requirement for grades 5 through 8, at which I took high school classes beginning in 6th grade.

I skipped my sophomore year of high school (over this past summer).

I took AP Physics B and Precalc as a freshman, and I am currently taking AP Physics C and BC Calc as a Junior.

Note: My school doesn't rank at all. That class rank above is an estimate of questionable accuracy.

Classes:
Freshman:
Precalc Research Honors (honors + 4 independent projects)
AP Physics B
Global II H
English H
Spanish H
Writing Enrichment

Junior:
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C
US H
English H
Spanish H
Natural Science Research Seminar
Health

Senior (next year):
Multivariate Calc
AP Chem
AP Government
AP Economics
AP Statistics
English H (possibly AP)
Spanish H (possibly AP)
Speech and Drama
Java

My situation concerning my GPA is a little bit weird. After 8th grade, I switched into public school and got terrible grades, a 3.2. After that year, I was skipped ahead to 11th grade. In eleventh grade, I have been getting better grades. My public school will not integrate my 4.0 GPA from 8th grade (which was all high school classes) into my cumulative GPA, but I factored it into my GPA here.

I'm not sure how I will present it when I apply or how the colleges will look at it.

I am now a junior.

If worst comes to worst and I feel that I need another year to improve my GPA or anything, it will probably not be very difficult for me to go back to my former grade. (will this look bad?)

Schools:
-Caltech
-Olin
-MIT
-Stanford
-Georgiatech
-Carnegie Mellon
-UC Berkeley
-Rice
-Harvey Mudd
-Yale Engineering
-Harvard Engineering

The GPA seems odd (UW GPA out of 4.33?); calculate it based on A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. Then it'd be easier to give chances for Berkeley, etc.

Yea, sorry. I had it that way for something else and I forgot to change it to the 4.0 scale.

Bump 10char

Bump bada bump bada bump bada bump BONANZA!
Bump bada bump bada bump bada bump bada bump bada bump bump bump

Bump bump, bump bump, buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuump, bump bup.

Bump ba bump, bump ba bump bump ba bump bump bump.

bump bump bump bump (bump ba da), bump ba da da (bump ba da)

ba bump bump bump bump ba bump ba!

Oh yea, please don't hesitate to suggest more reasonable schools or safeties. I have no idea what to expect.

Still no helpful responses...

bump 10chars

chill out man, we don't know all the answers...

I'm doing Garcia Program this year!

darn...your credentials...
I hate to compete with u next year :(

I actually have made a decision about the summer since i posted this. I will be doing independent research at the GECo astrophysics lab at Colombia.
