yeah exactly. which school do i apply to? i am into music and dance and theater but don't want to be sucked in and lose out on academics. that's why i thought gallatin would be a good fit. because then it would give me the freedom to choose courses encompassing all of these different areas.

I just applied early decision to Gallatin so I can't comment too much on your chances (although it looks to me like assuming your essay/supplement is good, you should have a good chance), but unless you want to study musical theatre at Tisch/Steinhardt or music business or something, I think you should apply to Gallatin. I kind of had the same problem--I'm interested in music, dance, and theatre, and my goal is to be a writer about theatre (preferably musical theatre). I chose Gallatin over Dramatic Literature at CAS/Tisch because I liked how I'd be able to study dance and music as well and get a strong liberal arts education at the same time, and also be able to focus more on studying musical theatre rather than just performing or studying straight theatre.
So I think that if you're interested in studying those three areas without necessarily becoming a musical theatre major, especially if you can think of a more unique way to combine them or want to study business as well, you should apply to Gallatin. Just my two cents.

How was your essay? My GPA is 3.2 and my ACT is 31 so I'm below you in stats but if you aren't confident in your essay then your chances drop significantly. I loved my essay and so did all of my English teachers (I'm currently taking AP English Lit) so I feel confident.

Thats good. Is it creative? Because I believe that is the most important aspect. Some of the best essays I have read included one guy's love for burritos and one girls love for action figures. Mine was about a boring day at work. Its random and its funny. I hope your's is unique and different.

Thats good. Always have confidence in your essay because that can be the clincher to your acceptance. Especially for me when my stats are on the edge.
