My chances for Harvard, Stanford, Cornell and MIT?

Hello everyone,
I am a new member of this community. And just like everyone, I want to know my chances for getting into Ivy leagues and other top universities at the unoted states.

So first of all, I am a class 11 student, studying in New Delhi, India.
I have always been among the top 3 of my class since the beginning of my schooling.
I will start with my academic performance of class ten.
I scored a 10 CGPA ( out of ten)
This means I scored an A1 in all my subjects including Math, Science(PCB),Social Science, English, and french. Further, this means I was one amongst the top 1% students who scored the same GPA in the entire country.

I am presently in class eleven,
But due to some medical conditions, I couldn't score as good as I did in the previous year.
However I still manged to score a 70%(Ranked 12 in my class of 50) .

I am hoping to do much much better in the final examinations so, this wont be a major concern.

Coming to standardized testing, I am yet to give the SAT 1 and 2.

Since the beginning of my school life, I have been engaed in countless extra curriculars.
I have been a finalist at a state level singing competition, been in the school choir and participated in various events.
About sports, I have played almost every sport i could including cricket, swimming, tennis, chess etc.
I have also participated in various chess and swimming competitions.
Also, I have been trained in 3 different martial arts( Karate, Taekwondo, Sqay) and won medals in all of them.

8) In class 10, I was amongst the few school studenta who represented indian amateur astronomers at the 'International Solar Eclipse Conference'.

10) I also started making my own telescopes by grinding the mirrors at home.

12) These were some of my activities as a member pf the astronomy club.

Ur extracurriculars r superb! Ur astronomy EC’s clearly show ur passion and how u followed it, and the MUN awards show ur public speaking and leadership potential. So, u r good there. I am not sure how GPA works in India, but what do u think ur gpa would be now, considering u got a 70%? Also, aim for a 2300+ on the SAT and study hard for it. If u do all this, I am sure u will be golden, provided u don’t need financial aid.

Thank you so much neurogirl. But I do need financial aid to some extent.:expressionless: Aren’t they supposed to be need blind?
We don’t have a GPA system in India post class 10.We have percentages in our class 11 and 12. So a seventy percent is just above average in class 11. But also a fact here is that, this percentage is for my first term examinations. (We have two terms in a year) so i still have a chance to improve my percentage. And then another year of my class 12.( Our academic year starts in april)
Provided I do well in the SATs and show a rising curve, will i be able to get in? I do need atleast a 50% concession:(

The issue is that there isn’t as much financial aid for international students. A lot of schools like accepting internationals for this reason because it means they will be paying full tuition.

^ Incorrect for Harvard. It has among the VERY BEST financial aid for international applicants. This, along with its name, make it one of the most sought after spots in the world.

^made my day :’)
But what are my chances?

Sent from my A250 using Tapatalk

Anyone?

Sent from my A250 using Tapatalk

Don’t bank on any of the ivies. They’re already quite difficult for American students to get into, and for international students even more so. Getting into Harvard as an international student is very very very very difficult, and therefore there’s no real way anyone on these forums can logically chance you. It’s a crapshoot a lot of the time.

I think you’re totally right. Thank you so much everyone! I was just concerned that I am not an inventor or a prodigy. Well, it seems I have to work harder now. Thank you all:)

Cormell is need blind for Indians the reason is TATA SCHOLARSHIP

If you can get a 2250+/32+ on your tests then youll have a shot. Besides that, your ECs are superb especially your astronomy club achievements.
