I hope I am a good applicant but I just want to hear some other people's opinions about my chances. (Really not trying to sound braggy just writing everything down like an application so if I sound egotistical I'm sorry I don't mean to)

So first of all it is Stanford, so it is a reach for everybody including yourself. Also know that any ECs that happened during middle school don’t count. Your ECs don’t show a ton of passion (remember quality over quantity), other then that you are fine.

All my extra curriculars are for high school but thank you

I know it doesn’t look like im passionate about my ECs but I am just tryin to condense some information where possible. I’m especially passionate about NHS and Future Business Leaders

I would say you’re unlikely to get into the schools you mentioned. As a previous poster also mentioned, I don’t see any thread of common interest in your extracurriculars, it looks like more quantity over quality, and there is nothing that stands out or is particularly interesting.

And if you want CCers to be able to give you a better idea of your chances, don’t try to condense information. You wouldn’t do that on the actual application, so don’t do it here. It’s difficult to tell how passionate you are about certain activities if you only write one sentence briefly stating that you participated in this activity, etc.

In FBLA i joined as a sophmore not knowing what exactly it was. But quickly fell in love with it. Every year there is competition and each member can participate in up to 3 events. This last year i was able to work closely with my dvisor as well as two other members to create a full video production that emphasized FBLA week and went to spdistricts and won 1st place but did not place at state. This year to come i am actually revamping FBLA to be more student led like it was meant to be. I am going to head all the meetings and plan advertising opportunities for local stores in return for them sponsoring us.
In National Honor Society I am very eager to make some changes as well. I ran for president but due to my selection as class representative i found it better to drop from the race. (i am very happy with the president selected). Our chapter has had some issues with our advisor not being able to accomodate all the meetings we wish to have and i have arranged some outside if school meetings at the library where we can accomplish more tasks and fundraisers than in the oast. I attend every meeting and have been the chair of the coronation committee, as well as a trivia night to raise money for lung cancer research.
In student council i am part of e news team and began as a writer for sketches but have been selected to be chief editor of all video, (due to winning FBlA video competition). In PPI (positive Peer Influence) i was a mentor for incoming freshman thrughout the year, but this coming year i will act as a mentor for the new freshman class as well as the new PPI mentors helping to teach different lessons and act as a resource or person to alk to for all the students i mentor.
As a class representative, i have taken the role of advertiser on the team. I am responsible for designing and producing all flyers, banners, announcements, and commercials on the student news. This past year as junior class representative i had a similar role but also was responsible for all detauks if Prom planning.
I dont know if this is the information you were looking for or not but thats more specifics of my roles in these clubs.

your SAT seems pretty light…

what weighted system u using (i’m not familiar with the weighted that everyone refers to on this board since my brother and i go to school with no weighting)

Your SAT seems pretty low but the main thing is you seem like a generic Stanford candidate. I think its reach/high reach. Stanford has an entrepreneurial feel I don’t get from you. You’ll probably get into some really great colleges though.

Is there anyone that has attended stanford or is somehow linked to stanford that can give me some good advice?

We offer some weighted classes on the 5 point weighted system a 5 b 4 c 3 etc f still 0

What can i possibly do to not be the generic candidate. I have done everything i could think of except cure cancer, which has proven to be very difficult. I could really use some ideas.

Your ACT is far better than SAT, so I don’t think they would value your SAT1 score too much. I don’t see any SAT2 scores which are still required by some of these schools even you submit ACT scores. With 4.0 GPA and 34 ACT, you are among most of the applicants to these schools while the acceptance rates are below 10%. From your EC, there is nothing really stands out from the crowd (at least not in the good sense) or shows your passion on anything. You may skip that 2 year guitar and 4 year piano from the list. That really makes the admission office think you have nothing better to put on your application. Sometimes, less is better. In reality, these schools may be all reach for you, but nothing should stop you from trying a couple or all of them. Just don’t put any expectation on it.

What kind of things makes a student stand out? I am really lost.

Passion in one thing. Your EC’s are all around the place. Look at your EC’s. is there really anything in common between them? If you really liked one thing you should focus on that. If you liked business a good application would have a few awards, an internship or two, and something that makes you stand out like you started a business. Recognition in local media is also nice.
