"I WILL BRING SAT SCORES UP!!!!!!!!!"

That will be key. You need your scores to be around 700 and if all those members in ur EC list become president/vice-president, then you're chances will be much better. Right now, you have what is called a laundry list of ecs, but leadership positions will make you shine. You seem very involved in music which is great...did you know you get music lessons at Penn with an instructor who comes to ur dorm? Can you explain ur GPA to us...like did you mess up freshmen year and this brought your GPA down or is it that you go to an ultra-competitive school...these things matter and will be taken into account by Penn.

Also, can I ask why your weighted GPA is 0? Does that mean you haven't taken any honors/HL classes or that your school doesn't weight GPAs?

Applying ED is a wise move...just be prepared with some safeties. Penn is a reach now, but if you follow some of my advice, I think you'll get there...gl!

I dont know how to calculate my weighted GPA..I have all IB classes...

weighted chart would look like this:

98-100 = 5
93-97 =4.666
89-92 = 4.333
86-88 = 3.666
83 - 85 = 3.333

the regular gpa would subtract 1 from that.

UT-Austin is my safety

I did bad in 8th grade..I had 3 classes which were on my transcript

Ohhh, ok. Like you took advanced math or something grade school and transferred out of it in high school. Make sure your GC explains that. What would your GPA look like without those 3 classes? That actually helps, lol

Taking all IB classes is good...make sure you score high on the exam, that will/may compensate for low standardized test scores

how would I calculate my gpa? the way my school does it or A=4 b=3 c=2

it would be a 3.71 the second way.

Lol, I don't know the rest of your grades...ask your GC. If you had like As/B+s in your high school career (excluding your grade school grades) then I say your GPA is great

it would be a 3.71 the second way. (exculding 8th grade)

there are so many variations to calculate gpa. :)

Ok then your main concern right now should be:
1) Raise SAT scores
2) Score well on you HLs
3) Get mucho leaderschip positions

Also, how good at music are you? Do you play a unique instrument? that could be a hook. And I'm assuming College of Arts and Sciene at Penn...Wharton is insane

I am a percussionist..I am alright...I play bass drum for marching season....no I talking a chance at Wharton.

If I score well on HL how will Penn know? it will be the end of my senior year.

Chances are very low for Wharton. Follow previous advice and be sure to convey your interest in the school. Even so, you need something to stand out in order to get accepted; those stats will NOT get you in.

Is the 3.71 what they take into account for gpa?

I used the method:
(all honors/AP/IB classes)
a =4
b =3
c =2

I also have 92.9930 grade points..can anyone tell me how to interpret this

theres HL math methods? I thought the only math Hl was Math HL the class.

math methods and math studies

i hav very similar stats as you : HS grad class of 07', IB diploma, similar SAT scores, marching band etc and i wanna apply to wharton ED this nov. also !!! gd luck!!!! but i'm very worried about my SAT score it's no where near 2250 :(

hey..I wish you the best of luck..anything can happen...:)

thx~ yup anything can happen ^^
