My chances for Penn State

Will I get into penn state with a 32 ACT score and a 106.05 weighted gpa? I am from Maryland if that matters at all.

Most likely, yes, as long as you apply before November 30.
What major?
What’s your unweighted GPA?

@MYOS1634 finance and my unweighted gpa is a 96.24

Ooh, in that case the process is different.
There are no direct admits to Smeal.
You must apply DUS, take the Business Freshman seminars and all the classes in your RAP (unless you’ve received credit for AP’s, but choose carefully because you may also be skipping an easy A), and second semester sophomore year (perhaps first semester sophomore year if you took a lot of AP credits) you must have a specific GPA in all your entrance to major classes and as an overall GPA. Finance is the most selective major among all Smeal majors DUS pre majors apply to.
In other words you can’t afford to have lower than a B+ and you need as many A’s as you can if you want finance.
Also apply to Schreyer since you may have a shot and that would allow you to bypass weedout classes by taking more in-depth but nonweedout honors classes. For Schreyer, the essays, course rigor, and EC’s are paramount.

(You can apply to Smeal, but in 90+% cases you are turned down and it’s suggested you apply DUS, so skip the middle step and apply DUS directly. It does not bring ANY advantage at all and only downsides.)

Smeal is the hardest college to get into at PSU. MYOS1634 gives good advice. You can attempt to apply to Smeal but you risk being turned down and then trying after the fact to get in under DUS. Your stats are very good. But everyone who gets into Smeal as a freshmen pre major has very good stats. Just understand how PSU does their majors (almost all of them). No one is in their major until they apply during their sophomore year. Everyone has to take the same entry to major requirements. The only difference between getting into pre major in Smeal or starting out DUS, is your advisor and a few Smeal only initiation events. In DUS, you have a DUS advisor, but they know exactly what you need to do to get into Smeal. If you were my kid, I’d be recommending the DUS route for sure because in your case you are likely admit with your stats in DUS, in Smeal - all bets are off.
