My chances for questbridge

Hi I have been really looking forward to apply for questbridge and can’t wait till sumer to start it however I feel like it would be a waste of time because of my income and gpa. My dad had gotten a raise from his job and earns 73k a year. Also I have a gpa of 3.6 unweighted and 3.7 weighted. I haven’t taken my sats yet but I plan to on June 4. I’ve had alot of problems with my family and I do believe that I can’t afford a top college. I’m a second generation student as well and we have a family of five. I am latina and was born here also have a great extracurriculars. If anyone please can give me advice are my chances slim. Or is there still a possibility? Thank you to all who reply

You can definitely seek entry into the Questbridge program. The financials are not hard cut-offs, and you seem to have other qualifying criteria and a possible story to go with your success.

So don’t procrastinate or doubt yourself when you are applying, and remember to give any recommenders a decent amount of notice before any application is due.

Good luck to you!

Thank you so much @waitingtoexhale ! Means alot

It will mean so much more when you are matched/placed with a university that is bound to offer you every opportunity to study hard, mingle with students as dedicated as you, and seek out new opportunities.

There are plenty of threads around CC with lots of information on Questbridge, but something I remember from one of them is this: often families are unaware that there can still be a significant financial contribution that is expected of them, though the student is placed through Questbridge. The details of what gets worked out with your family will be particular to your family only, but do make sure you keep that in mind.

Again, success to you.
