My chances for Rice, UCLA, and UC Berkeley

<p>Okay, first of all, I recently applied to Rice ED. And I'm applying to two UCs near the end of November, which is this month.</p>

<p>I know it's hard, but could you guys predict my chances based on the stats provided:</p>

<p>SAT I - 630 CR, 790 Math, 750 Writing = 2170 total
SAT II - Math Level II = 800, Physics = 750</p>

<p>AP Calculus AB (I had to travel by flight to take this exam 'cause it's not offered at our school) - 4 (self-study)</p>

<p>IB Diploma Candidate
Chemistry HL - 7 predicted
Biology HL - 6 predicted
English HL - 6 predicted</p>

<p>Lots of extra curricular activities, but I mainly focus on playing the violin
-Chamber Orchestra (Bronze medal at National Competition [Canada])</p>

<p>I have over 800 hours of volunteer hours...too lazy to list them all, but my activities and work experiences are very variegated.</p>

<p>I don’t know about Rice but it looks like you are a match at Berkeley and UCLA. With some more information (GPA, other AP scores, etc.) I think we could be more accurate.</p>

<p>I live in Houston and although your scores are good, Rice is doubtful. Almost everyone at my school applies there and I’ve seen who they admit and who they don’t. It’s crazy competitive</p>

<p>Your SAT’s & SAT II’s are strong, EC’s/violin/enormous amount of hours of comm service are also huge pluses, and you have a pretty difficult transcript. However, I really can’t give you an accurate gauge w/o ur GPA. Right now, I’d say Rice ED is a low-reasonable reach</p>

<p>Well, I’m an international student (and I’m aware that UCs tend not to accept that many international students).</p>

<p>My GPA, from gr 11, was 92.6% out of 100%.
It’s not that high…and I’m probably in top 10%</p>

<p>my AP score is 4</p>

<p>good luck getting a 7 and a 6 on bio and chem HL tests, science tests are the hardest ones no doubt chemistry, SL was brutal, don’t even wanna think of HL
you’d have a better chance of getting a 7 on HL Math with you’re math scores</p>
