My chances for top 5 schools...?

Hi I am going to be a senior and was wondering what my chances are to these colleges:

Colleges:
1) Syracuse University (ED)
2) Pepperdine University
3) American University
4) IL Wesleyan
5) Temple
6) any other schools you can recommend for me..

Academic:
-3.5 unweighted GPA
-3.3 weighted GPA
-27 act
-AP Classes: macroeconomics, language, Calculas AB, environmental
-upward trend in grades and rigor of classes.

EC:
-300+ volunteer at hospital
-3yrs of debate
-2yrs of XC and 3 yrs of track
-board of SADD
-4yrs of Key Club
-worked at Kumon

Honestly, I don’t know much about any of those schools but AU, but your GPA is pretty borderline, as well as your ACT for that one (from what I’ve read anyways). It may depend on the scores you got on those AP Exams. Your extracurriculars are pretty good, so it may makeup for it, but in the end, colleges are obsessed with their numbers. I think AU is a reach, but it could be doable with a good essay and recommendations.
Sorry, I don’t know anything about the rest!

How can your weighted GPA be lower than your unweighted?

Sorry I mad a mistake…the GPAs are flipped…

Decent chances.
Good luck,

You’re fine for Temple, but I wouldn’t expect to get into honors or get any merit aid.

I also got a 4 on my macroeconomics AP

I don’t know about the other schools, but for Pepperdine and American your GPA/scores are in their lower range.

For Pepperdine, the key would be emphasizing your extracurriculars and writing a compelling essay.
