My Chances for UC Berkeley? :)

Name: Chinwe
Sex: Female
Age: barely 15

So, I've only just completed my first year of high school. My current cumulative GPA is 3.50 UW. I had some family issues this past year, if that makes any significant difference.

Some things you should know about my prospective high school career:
Classes:
- Advanced Journalism
- Accelerated Sophomore English
- AP European History
- Honors Chemistry
- Geometry (mathematics is my Kryptonite. I took Algebra I twice.)
- Leadership/Student Council (I'm 10th Grade Treasurer)
- Spanish 1-2

Junior Year
- Honors English
- AP United States History
- Honors Biology
- Honors Precalculus (Algebra II during summer)
- Leadership/Student Council
- Spanish 3-4

Senior Year
- AP English Literature
- AP Economics/Government
- AP Calculus B/C or AP Statistics
- Leadership/Student Council (hopefully Student Body President)
- AP Spanish (5-6 during summer)
- AP Biology or AP Chemistry

Co-Curriculars/Clubs:
PHS Interschool Mentoring Program (Vice President)
Interact
Key Club
Journalism Club
NAHS
NHS (though I'm not sure when I can apply)

Community Service Hours: 2-4 hours a week for a year starting in September
Types of Service:
- Tutoring/Mentoring
- Helping teachers after school
- Pro Bono volunteering (but the website won't load for my county!!!)
- (any suggestions???)

Sports:
Track & Field (Definitely--I think I could make it to CCS in sprints)
Basketball (maybe)
Volleyball (maybe)

Hopeful Honors/Awards:
Presidential Service Award (Gold)
Jefferson Award
Academic Department Award
Sophomore Project Award

Other Activities:
Academic Decathlon (maybe; my high school probably won't be interested)
I'm probably going to submit to a few writing contests next year

As far as my hook goes, I have several:
- I have a low SES (I'm African-American and come from a low-to-moderate income family)
- I have a serious interest in literature (I've been writing short stories since I was 3 or 4)
- I am the only U.S. citizen in my entire family
- I just recently started teaching myself French
- I've research the disciplines of sociology and Western philosophy during my spare time
- I have a heavy appreciation of my Nigerian heritage
- I had tough domestic situation from early childhood (won't go into detail)
- I'm a self-starter (in most aspects of my life)

At first I really wanted to go to an Ivy, but UC Berkeley is pretty close to my city and it's absolutely beautiful up there. I also feel like I would acclimate myself to the environment way faster there than if I went to a snooty private university across the country. Berkeley students seem way more laid back.
So, seeing as it's a 1 out of 5 shot, I was wondering if someone could give a subjective estimate as well. Do I have what it takes?

no one can tell you your chances. UCs only look at 10th and 11th, and you haven’t completed either of those years. Also haven’t taken the SAT.

It is really hard to make any predictions given only one years worth of gpa especially since your courses seem to be getting more advanced with more AP courses.
Also, you don’t have any standardized tests scores (ACT/SAT/SATII) let alone any predictors such as the PLAN/PSAT…
If you can maintain that GPA or preferably get it up, and score really high on standardized tests (between 50-75% percentile of UC-Berkeley’s scores: 25th / 75th Percentile
SAT Critical Reading: 600 / 720
SAT Math: 650 / 770
SAT Writing: 620 / 740)
then you would likely have a match
