<p>I'm an international student and want to get into NYU.
I'm applying this fall and planning on applying to NYU for early decision.
I want to major in Art History
so I'm definitely applying to NYU College of Arts and Science.</p>
<p>GPA: 3.92 out of 4.0 (My highschool does not rank.)

<p>I really want to get into NYU CAS lolz...............
I heard it's getting harder every year to get into CAS...
So what do you guys think my chances are
for getting into NYU College of Arts and Science???</p>
<p>I live in South Korea. I know my ECs are weak but like going to school six days a week and staying there until ten at night does not give you enough time to do ECs.... I put all myself into Cheerleading but come to think of it, i think i kinda wasted time...mm</p>
<p>oh i see...well that changes your chances considerably, because i suspect the competition from your classmates trying to also go to the US will be large. also, take into account the fact that Asians are an ORM. </p>
<p>Make sure you lift your SATs when you take it again this year. Your chances seem still pretty good.</p>

<p>I'm totally unfamiliar with international admissions to NYU, so take my opinion with a bucket of salt.</p>
<p>While your stats are impressive, and you would get in if you were applying from the US, the fact that you are international and are applying from Korea is going to hurt your chances a lot. I suspect that you have many peers with much more impressive stats, and you honestly have nothing to distinguish yourself from more appealing candidates. That said, I think it's great that your ECs show some focus and passion. If you are really great at Art History, as in not just AP 5 material, but as in you are highly articulate and well-informed about it, then you have a shot as long as you can show that knowledge.</p>
<p>Like practically every people does MUN, debate, mock trial....
I'm not kind of that person who enjoys doing those kind of things and I did not want to ruin who I am by following others.
These days I'm writing my common app essays and until now I've wrote two. One is about the experience working in the art gallery (I met an Italian curator and it was really a memorable experience) and another is about my dad and how he implemented in me the interest toward art.
I'm getting rec letters from my French teacher (I've studied French for 3 years and taking DELF B2 this september) and another from World History teacher (our high school does not offer art history courses so i've studied for the AP alone...)</p>
<p>I really want to get into NYU .................... lolz
If I raise my scores up to 2200 something, would I have a better shot?</p>

It seems like the task left to me now is to lift my SAT1 score a bit and write stellar essays...!!</p>
