How in the heck does that GPA system work…and I thought my school was crazy…
Well, your application is average for an Asian. Welcome to the boat mate. It’s musical chairs and there’s, say, 300 chairs and 1000 of us (numbers completely made up, just go along with it). You’re in at UNC, but the Ivies are all reaches. As an unhooked ORM (over represented minority), I doubt anyone could say much with certainty. I’m relatively sure you’ll get into one of the reaches on your list, but who knows which…

Unhooked just means that you don’t have a “super” factor. A “hook” includes being a legacy, or under-represented minority, or earning a major national award, such as being a SIEMENS finalist. Welcome to CC, by the way. Take a look around, you’ll get used to the lingo.

I’d say you’re in amazing shape for Columbia ED. The others may be stretches, especially if you applied regular. Being in state will definitely help with Duke though. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in there.

I agree with some of the posts above. Great GPA and test scores. Decent EC’s too. I’d say you will have a good chance of getting into at least one of the Ivies. Good luck
