I was also just accepted into the USC resident honors program, I hope that helps outline my credentials.

UT-Austin is your absolute safety if you can maintain that rank…

I realize I have safeties at UT-Austin, and UT-Dallas where I can get a full ride through National Merit
I’m just wondering what school’s would be unrealistic and realistic reach schools.

Bumpy BUMP

Why don’t you name some schools so we can chance you. There are way too many schools that are matches for you. You better be specific and at least tell us what is your intended major. It would make sense to chance you base on your current scores.

John Hopkins University
Rice University
Washington St. Louis
Emory
Georgetown
Berkeley
UPenn
UVA
Duke

I know I am guaranteed admission to UT schools, and I have recently been accepted to USC as part of the Resident Honors Program for High School Juniors.

I want to Dual major in Biochemistry/Chemistry, along with History. My goal is Med School at JHU (extremely unlikely, I know).

Also a quick update: My team is expected to win first place in state Current events UIL and I’m expecting first place in Biology UIL. This summer I’m attending the UT-Austin Summer Research Academy and The LeadAmerica Conference at JHU(I know its not notable, but my parents insisted and it’ll be fun). I am also hoping to be an intern at a local Biotech company this summer.

Bumperon - King of the Bumperonions

I’d appreciate any feedback, my parents are concerned about the universities I have a shot at. I am also hearing stories of students with much better resumes than me being rejected from every one of my top choices.

For sure Texas Tech!

Thanks for suggesting a Texas school I know I can get into.
I think everyone thinks I’m a prick for posting such a depressing post about my worries, despite my decent stats. But, I just want to know if I have a chance at the schools I’ve listed. In my school counselors seem to have wrote me off already because of my rank, rank means everything in my school and I just want to know how relevant it is to admissions. Also are there any good programs in Texas I should apply to like UT-Dallas’s UT-PACT, and McDermott Program.

i think you can get into ut arlington for sure, ut el paso is a bit of a stretch but i think you can make it too. now ut pan american is a real reach, almost as hard as itt tech but with a bit of luck and praying to vishnu, you can definitely make it. reach for the stars and if you fail try try again!

JHU: Reach
