My Chances in Brown School of Engineering

I am a US citizen(Indian origin), applying to colleges. My GPA is 4.0. My SAT Score is 2100(CR-700 (96th percentile) , Writing-710 (96th percentile), Math-690(92nd percentile). My ACT Score is 32. My SAT Math level 2 score is 770(69th percentile), and SAT Physics is 780(82th percentile). I am planning to give SAT Chemistry, AP Computer Science, AP Physics C, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus BC soon. My EC’s are-
-house captain in school
-research paper in an international journal on computational biology
-first in English Debate Competition(inter-school)
-voluntary services in charitable organisations
-2nd place in Robotics Competition in middle school (organized by BEST), in the regional level.
-scored in National Science Olympiad (96th percentile)
-scored in National Cyber Olympiad(82nd percentile)
-review paper on “Altruism”, in Science Reporter, a science magazine for high school students
-presented a poster during an internship in Haldia Institute of Technology on “New horizons in Biotechnology”

-know four programming languages ( C, C++, Java, MATLAB), and a little HTML
-acted as an anchor in several functions in school.

What are my chances of getting applied in BROWN school of engineering. I will be grateful for any advice.

I don’t know if they are specifically accepting into the Brown School of Engineering. If so, that is new. Historically, students are admitted to Brown, and they can choose their major as they please. Brown does ask intended majors, but it’s not binding in any way. Having said that, in order to complete the ABET accredited engineering program, you pretty much have to follow the curriculum beginning first semester. But, back to the point, you will be accepted, I believe, to Brown, not to the School of Engineering.

As to your stats, it’s hard to say. Just from the little I know, the SAT scores are a little on the low side, but not disqualifying if your application is otherwise strong.

Good luck.
