Major: Economics
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: 100% Afghan
School: Nor Cal Public School
Unweighted: 3.76
Common App GPA: 4.0
UC GPA: 4.2
SAT: 1980 (going to retake w higher score) (Writing 600 (essay 9), Math 730, Reading 650)
ACT: 31 (waiting on new scores, hopefully higher)
Dad did not go to college, mom only has an AA degree from community college.
Parents were born in Afghanistan.
Will probably not qualify for financial aid and has not had super hardships.
Has letters of rec from elected officials as well as teachers. </p>

Class President all four years
Student leadership all four years
Club soccer since I could walk (many years as captain)
Won a few awards here and there
Worked on Mayor's campaign for State Assembly
Summer internship for Congressman
Graduated from a District Attorney's program
3 year varsity soccer player
1 year of lacrosse
Has visited Afghanistan 2 times
Volunteered extensively in education in Afghanistan in 2013 (really extensively)
Founder and president of a club to donate money to an orphanage in Afghanistan
Volunteered for an organization that holds soccer tournaments in America and donates proceeds to soccer development there
Voted most likely to succeed, junior homecoming prince and senior homecoming court (if that counts for anything)</p>

<p>Well you can find the guessing game section of the forum under ‘what are my chances?’</p>

<p>For your self you might want to build a spreadsheet. Compare your scores to the average of accepted students. You might be in the bottom 25 for most of these colleges. Same with gpa and much depends on the rigor of your schedule. Use any info your GC has to help assess, maybe you have naviance data for your school. You are in the top 10 pct at school?</p>

<p>Super top heavy list, try to add some matches if you want more choices when acceptances come out. I think you should be able to make your background and ec and stuff stand out if you craft a good essay. </p>
