My chances in getting into a UC?

I am planning to transfer on Fall 2014. Currently, I have 35 UC transferable semester units and I am doing 11 UC transferable semester units this semester. I am planning to do 14 units next semester so I can satisfy the minimum requirement of 60 UC transferable units. I will also be done with my IGETC by the end of Spring 2014.

I currently have a GPA of 3.34, and have completed the highest level of French in my Community College. I have also satisfied the major prerequisites as suggested by Assist.org for UCI and UCSB (other UC's, however, do not have reports for their French majors, such as UCR, UCM, and UCSC...however, UCLA and UCB asks to take as much preparations as possible, that is why I am enrolling at a different community college to register a UC transferable French class higher than French 202 -- Conversational French.) I am planning to TAG UCI.

Moreover, I have a D (Human Genetics) and a W (Italian.) Other than those, I usually have an A or a B...just one C (Theatre Arts.) The program advisor at my college told me that these two subjects have been subtracted from the 35 UC transferable units already.

I think my options now are UCI, UCSB, UCLA, and UCB. I also wanted to try to get in UCSC, UCM, and UCSD. $560 total application fee based on the $80 per UC.

I know -- UCB? With this situation? Well, it doesn't hurt to dream!

What else can I do to increase my chances of getting in my 4 main options? As much as possible too, I want to stay in or around Los Angeles area.

Bump! (Sorry if this is against forum rules, but my post was buried in the 4th page.)

I am in a similar situation, except I would be happy to get into SC. Anyways, I think it would be outrageous if you got into UCB or UCLA. With your GPA you’d have to get a 2300+ on the SAT?? And pile EC’s?? Write a face-melting essay?? That’s all I can think of as far as options go. Maybe trying re-taking the classes that are hurting you to help your Gpa. If not, just aim a bit lower in terms of colleges. Good Luck!
