I was born in Baghdad, came to US as political refugee some 10 years ago.

What are my chances of getting in to UCLA? Anything I can do to help myself get in?

I think you’re a low reach. Your ECs are good, although another leadership position would help. The one thing that might really hurt your chances is your SAT score. Study for it and take it again if you can, or maybe try the ACT. I think being a political refugee might help you, not sure though.

Definitely bump your SAT a little bit, but all the APs will look good. I think your political background is a little different too, and colleges like diversity, especially those Cal ones.
