Schools I am thinking of:

Chance me guys!!

Oh yeah, and I am also the first generation to go to college in my family..

And I do not plan to apply for financial aid. :)

Do you need financial aid?

nope, I won’t apply for financial aid

bump!!!

Looks good.. better than mine…
im sure u have some chance…
did u take Oct SAT?

bump!!!

yes i took the oct SAT haha

By the way, AP Physics B, Calc BC, and Chemistry were self-studied.

I have also taken most AP exams in my school until junior in the history of our school.

I will also take 5, possibly 6, more AP Exams this year (Chinese Language and Culuture, Biology, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English lang, and possibly Physics C mechanics).

I am also enrolled in EPGY Multivariables Diff. Calc Class as of now.

I am also planning to take EPGY Multivariable Integral Calc next semester.

What state are you in? If California, then Berkeley is a match.

You have a good shot at Stanford, though your ECs show a lack of passion/focus. The Intel fair will help a lot, though.

Actually my passion lies on soccer (sports), service, and science mainly. However 2 months ago I went through a knee surgery which made me not able to play soccer for the rest of my life. So I wrote my essay about the surgery and its impact in my life(I had to get my meniscus in my right knee removed because it was completely torn…). I also decided to join the student government because people recommended me too. And I am not a resident in California :frowning: hehe thanks for your reply! bump!!

MORE AWARDS:
Excellence in Science (Given to a student who is best at science in the entire school)
Excellence in Mathematics (same as above)
School Champion of Canadian Mathematics (-0-)
And also, for getting the ISEF 2nd award, I get a meteorite named after me :)

Recommendations:
My math teacher and physics teacher(who is also school principal and my accountability partner: I go to his house twice a week for dinner)

MIT, Caltech: High Reach (Largely because of SAT’s)
Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Columbia: Reach (But possible if you do bring up those SAT’s and reveal your inner self and demonstrate authentic understanding of what it means for you to attend each individual school)
UMich, Berkeley, Cornell, Northwestern: Match
Carnegie Mellon, Cal Poly: (Where are your safeties?)

I think it’s clear your passion lies in your academic work. The Ivey’s will know which of them you are applying to. You need to be very careful to not appear to be applying to the top schools simply because they are the top schools. They are looking for fit and you should be as well.

who knows, you have typical asian profile, which is very good. good luck.

Interesting. You are clearly a strong math student, but your verbal and writing scores are less than stellar and will hurt you. You will get in to at least one school you listed, I assure you. Whether you will get into Stanford or not is up in the air. It’s a reach for everyone.

The OP is an OOSer, so Berkeley probably isn’t a match.

So there’s passion, but little focus. (“Service” and “science” are both very broad.)

As an added note: if you do go down this road, make sure to tie it into how you have changed, not just “ohnoes, my knee is forever damaged, I can’t play soccer nomores.” Being an OOSer makes Berkeley much more difficult to get into, so your essays are crucial; thus, you want to be able to show that you’ve progressed despite such adversity. Just throwing that out there.

Thank you very much for your advice! I will definitely take a note of that

btw, what is an OOSer? never heard that word before

oos = out of state

bump~!~!~!~

bump!@~!~!~!~!

bump again~!!

BUMP!! Please comment~~
