Princeton - reach
NYU - match

columbia, dartmouth, and princeton seem like reaches because your verbal is pretty low. How can you apply as international if you live here? Maybe you have good extracurriculars but from what youve said its not enough to tell. Cornell and Upenn are also tough to get into, Upenn especially is getting much harder.

i'm international because i'm a citicen of Korea and not USA even if i live in USA....also i don't have green card.....so...verbal score is low cuz it's my second language?? (5 yrs of English)

hopmenjkjk~ really??? domestic??
so is it going to be the same for me?? what was your visa status??
i have no green card or citizenship....i am in the u.s. with R2 visa.....
hmmmm am i in the same situation with you then??
my sister last year, was admitted as an international student to williams...which is much harder.......wth....she was in the same situation as you and me....i'm confused....

I know people with same stats and same situations as you. 730 Writing is very good! I don't know about your ECs, but if they are excellent, you can expect to get into all those colleges except Princeton, Columbia, U Penn, and Dartmouth. As to your international status, I hope that you already found out that you are a FOREIGN applicant, not an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT. Foreign is for students without green card who live in the US. International is for students applying from a foreign country.

thanks....hopefully i can get into either columbia or Dartmouth...........i think it is possible that i can be considered as domestic...since i went to high school in U.S.
so anyone else? for my chances?

Hi, i'm a foreign student like you from SOuth Korea and came here five years ago, too.

My Stats are similar except I have a slightly higher SAT verbal, but a lower Wrting Score.. I also did a little better on the other SAT IIs tho..

I asked almost all of the admission officers at the schools that I'm applying to, and they all told me that they would consider me as a domestic applicant because I go to a high school here. But they also said that they would take into consideration that English is not my first lang- although I believe they hold similar standards for both internationals and domestic applicants in reality.

Okay.. I think the your(and my) chances at the ivies are very unpredicatable.

But my suggestion for you is to be realistic.. Because, at first, I was optamistic about getting into good schools and didn't realize the incredible competitions out there.. That's why I was crushed when I got deferred from Columbia ED(when ED is supposed to help applicants a lot!). I truly learned from the experience that I should not to determine my chances in advance(..cuz i can't...)..lol... So..i just decided to wait for decisions..lol

You know.. i think it'll be a lot better receiving an acceptance letter without expecting it than receiving a rejection letter, expecting and hoping for admission..
