My Chances into UC Santa Barbara Or UC Irvine

I want to get into UC Irvine or Santa Barbara or San Diego State
Yeahh I'm a junior currently, but the years almost over oh yeah I'm Japanese so... i dont know if that affects my chances into getting into irvine though lol...

My UC Gpa is 3.81
SATS
Math - 674
Writing - 590
Critical Reading - 640

SAT2
Mathematics 2 - 667
World History - 623

APs
none, but havent been taking like retard classes though took classes like Calculus, PHysics, biotech nothign like TA
and next year i signed up for AP bio and AP Calc AB

Extracurriculars :-/

1 year of interact club and Asian/Pacific Islander Club and only liek 10 hours of community service my junior year so far... Gonna continue with interact club senior year and also join some more clubs

SO what do you guys think... Oh yeah i live in california if that matters...

UCI / UCSB look like slight reaches to me. SDSU maybe

Well, my SAT was 610, 600, 580. Much lower than yours and I got into UCSB, but I am loaded with extracurriculars and I’m Nicaraguan/Nigerian. Your SAT II are better than mine too.

Freshman Applicant Statistics (Fall 2008 Entering Class)

Applicants: 47,083

Admitted: 23,187 (49%)

4.03 average GPA
1871 mean SAT I score
6.4% of admitted students are non-residents
Enrolled: 4,387

3.84 mean GPA
1782 mean SAT score
35% GPA of 4.0 or above
586 mean Verbal SAT score
605 mean Math SAT score

OP

After this year’s weird decisions with both UCI and UCSB I can’t really say anything.
I know people with 3.5GPAs and >1500 SATs got in with some majors
Some of 4.0+ GPAs and 2000+ SATs got rejected.
For Business… the rate got so low… it was like 150 out of 3000 people got in for business.

It all depends on the essay, something’s bound to be there… perhaps also which high school u come from… what kind of competition do u have in your own high school? How do u stack up?

There’s lots of factors… I say your scores are good, I got in with both lower GPA and SAT… but I wrote a hell of an essay
