Your stats are about middle of the range. What major are you applying for? Did you apply during this admissions cycle or are you planning on applying for next year?

I am trying to major in Architecture and i am applying next year (so I’m in the 11th grade currently)

Ouch, architorture huh? Get ready to spend lots of money on coffee and red bull, and sell your soul away to Studio.

Anyways…

Work on getting some great recommendation letters from teachers. Try for straight As your last few semesters in school. Couldn’t hurt to redo some of the tests and see if you can score higher as well. USC likes to see their admits in leadership positions and giving back to the community through service, so see if you can do some of those. See if you can go visit, perhaps do a Meet USC tour. That architecture course at USC may have gotten you some connections, see if you can get anything from there. And remember to apply with plenty of time to spare before the deadline!

Alright thank you! And yes I am trying to shoot for a 2200 on the SAT again

Oh, i also forgot about my school EC’s they include
2 years- of Korean club
1 year- swim team
3 years- dance club

You kinda have similar stats as I did. Boost up the GPA a bit, do a little better on the SAT next time (or a lot, your choice ;)), have a kickass portfolio and creative/personal statement (or whatever they make architecture applicants do), and you’re golden.

See ya in two years.

Yes of course! I don’t think i can do much about my GPA maybe a boost it to a solid 3.7 but i am shooting for over 2200 on the SAT and I already have a portfolio ready thanks to AP drawing. Thank you!

You can still do a lot with an extra year - getting 4.0s will boost your slightly subpar GPA, and 2200 will be a very solid SAT score

Theres a chance though that USC might go common app next year, and might be a bit more competitive

good thing your in the 11th grade. Focus on getting your best grades this year and don’t forget to take SAT II’s. Yes a 2200 will definitely boost your chances, so study hard. make sure to have a rigorous senior schedule. As long as your class rank is good and recs/ essays are at least average, I feel USC will be a match for you so like 50%.(with current SAT score)
Good luck :)

thank you all! and um quick question, so does like the GPA get rounded up though? like lets say you have a 3.7854, would that round up to 8?
