My chances just dropped!

I just found out that UPenn/Wharton does not superscore the SAT.. my superscore is 120 points higher than my highest in a particular date.. Chance me now please!

My SAT Is:
Date 1: 730M, 720CR, 670W - 2120
Date 2: 800M, 600CR, 750W - 2150

Hopefully they will consider the huge difference in CR scores and understand that I just messed up CR the second time round.

Please chance me for Wharton ED, now that they will consider me as having a 2150 SAT not a 2270.

I am rather sleepy so if anyone could clarify that I understood their reply properly, it would be great. This is what they said in their email:

“We will take the highest combined score from each testing date of the SAT1 with writing when we look at your scores.”

Maybe I will be advantaged by the fact that the admissions people will see my superscore first when they read my app, since the new CommonApp tells you to write your best scores from across all sittings… they will not see my highest sitting score until they look at my score reports.

They require all scores from all test dates, and they DO superscore, even if it isn’t actually superscoring. They want to see all of your tests to get a better picture overall, but they will use your top score on each section. It would only make sense for them to do so in order to report amazing median test scores. So no need to worry. The 600 won’t be counted against you. :)

O_O
My jaw just dropped.
Those are some incredible stats! Your SAT scores are pretty darn good, not astronomically high for Wharton but well within range nonetheless.
But your other stats are rather impressive. IB Scores, trilingual, etc.
You have a solid shot, though being an Indian male is the biggest detriment I see.

You have excellent ECs and leadership experience. Even though your SAT score isn’t the highest, you definitely sound like a great candidate for the school. I’m fairly sure you shouldn’t have to worry about your SAT :]

I can’ believe you are worrying over this. Just apply and see what happens…
