My chances just dropped!

I am considering applying to Princeton ED but I am a bit worried about my SATs as my highest in one sitting is 2150 but my superscore is 2270. What do you think my chances are?

My SAT Is:
Date 1: 730M, 720CR, 670W - 2120
Date 2: 800M, 600CR, 750W - 2150
Superscore: 800M, 720CR, 750W - 2270

Hopefully they will consider the huge difference in CR scores and understand that I just messed up CR the second time round.

Will I be benefited by the fact that they will see my best scores only, on my CommonApp and that they will have to see my score reports to see my highest score in one sitting?

Don’t look! Your chances just dropped again!

I think it drops even more every time you look at this thread. I would avoid checking back if I were you.

I hate to break it to you, but you’ve missed Princeton’s ED deadline, so I guess your chances have dropped even further.

princeton hasn’t had ED for like 4 years. they will be able to see all the times you’ve taken the SAT, but they’ll consider only your highest scores. your e.c’s are so scattered.

basically, chances threads don’t help you at all. sure, you have a chance. a bit more than the average applicant, i guess. but just work hard on your essays and make sure your application does you and everything you’ve worked hard for your entire life for justice. goodluck.

Haven’t you made around thirty of these already?

Haha I remember this thread (or a version of one of yours) was the very first thread I saw on CC

Relaxxxxx…and read some of that positive feedback I remember from that other thread :)

Just apply and hope for you the best. Do not bet your entire life’s success on going.

You have about a 1/e probability of getting in.

^
36% chance is a little high, don’t you think?

It’s only valid for very large values of e.

^
Given that e is a widely recognized mathematical constant, I don’t think he’s referring to another e than the 2.718… number. Especially considering his rather mathy username. :)

I don’t think it’s too high. He’s certainly qualified. His scores are good, his ec’s seem solid.

However, if it pleases you, I can drop it to 1/pi.

You shouldn’t worry. Princeton superscores the SAT.

Derivate: did you miss that he is an international from Hong Kong?

Nikkor I think you missed the joke…

No, I think you missed the joke. :)

Why should they conclude you “messed up” CR the second time? Wouldn’t it make just as much sense to conclude you got lucky the first time?

It’s like Pokemon… Squirtle, “Bubblebeam!”… “It’s super effective!” Oh no, your chances just dropped!

Well, I did go in thinking that I did not give a **** about CR because I got the score I wanted the first time.

Wouldn’t the admissions officers know that the SAT curve adjusts for difficulty? So even if the test was really easy, I would have to get very few wrong the first time to get 720.
