I'm a low-ranking junior at a "good" Catholic HS, wondering about where (/if) I could be accepted.

ACT = 30, I'm taking it again (w/ writing) in April, I'm studying for it this time and expect to get 2-4 pts better.

Extra-Curriculars: Varsity Track/Cross Country all years (so far).

GPA: First two years about a 2.2, but there is an upward trend which I think matters. 1st semester of junior year I got a 3.7, so far 2nd semester I have a 3.5 (not including 4th quarter in which I have all A's and exams).

I know I am good at writing if I have an essay to write with my application. I have a couple teachers that really like me who would write a good Letter of recommendation.

I've taken a few Honors courses (Integrated Math 2 and English freshman year, Anatomy and Physiology Soph.), and will take AP Calculus Senior year.

Jobs: I was a caddy at a country club for about 2 summers.

Wherever I go, I plan on enlisting (probably in the Army) after HS graduation and getting my degree through online courses.

Majors I'm interested are International Relations and Math. I might end up double-,ajoring if I can take the workload. Anyway, ideally I want to get in to school with a good undergrad IR program, like George Washington University. Should I bother applying to a school like GWU or JHU?

P.S. I think I might not apply to any safety school while in HS, and if I don't get accepted, then I'll get my GPA up senior year and go into the army, wait a school year, then apply for both desired and safety schools, hoping that those two things would help.
