My chances of getting admitted

I want to transfer to ULL for the Spring. These are their requirements
<a href="http://admissions.louisiana.edu/basics/requirements.shtml%5B/url%5D">http://admissions.louisiana.edu/basics/requirements.shtml</a></p>

I sent in my transcripts and while I didn't get guarantee admission they did offer me to get in by comittee. Which means they'll review my application and see if they want to accept me or not.

Basically I didn't do great in high school I had a 2.2GPA and an Act of 19. I went to community college and had to take all remedial my first semesters and even though they don't count for much I did manage to make all A's and B's. I took 3 classes this past summer and made all A's. So basically I have a 4.0 GPA but its only from two classes. I wasn't able to do much volunteer work or extra curricular activities since so much time was put into my school work and my job. They have a 67%acceptance rate but only 7% of the incoming class can get in by admission by comittee. What do you think are my chances?

I'm applying for the Spring semester and the school year hasn't even started. So I'm hoping since I'm applying so early it will play into my advantage. They have been responding to me quickly so Im gussing there isn't alot of applicants at the moment.

Is there more time you can spend at your community college? You should consider taking more actual college courses and acing those classes. I understand your concerns but they also take into account your extracurricular activities. Maybe you should cut back on your job hours? I’m really sorry, I wish you the best. But, you should evaluate how much you’ve grown as a person, the changes and adversities you have overcame, etc. You should explain everything you did here within your essays. I think that will allow them to see you as a person rather just a number. Best of luck!

I’m going to my community college in the Fall. My transcript shows that I’m going to take 15 semester hours. Of course it doesn’t give them any grades because, I haven’t taken them yet.

Basically in my essay I sum up that I’m just now starting to realize my potential and that going there will be a privilege to me.

That sounds good! You’re on the right track! I wish you the best of luck!
