I am currently a senior in high school. I am planning on applying to TAMU for Petroleum Engineering. What do you think my chances are for getting into the school.

You do know that majors are filled first come first served (up to 85% for engineering) so you should apply sooner rather than later, right?
What did you make on the English part of the ACT?
You should probably get into engineering. Remember it is general engineering. Late in your freshman year you will apply to a specific discipline. Admission to the engineering majors is based upon GPA, involvement and a few other things.
