My chances of getting in?

I’ll tell you a few major stuff about me:
-wanting to major in biomedical engineering
-enrolled in International Baccalareate (IB)
-GPA unweighted = 3.92

  • class rank: 38/586 (top 6%)
-plays oboe (very well) and many (5) other instruments
-drum major of 215 member marching band (junior AND senior year)
    -district National Honor Society president
-first place in my category at the district science fair
    -lives in Florida
    -father went to Tech
-many other awards of musical performances, community service and leadership
However these are my sat and act scores: (low in my opinion)
    SAT 1240 (out of 1600)
    ACT 27
(Also, I am an extremely hard worker in everything I do.)
    Could I get in?

I think your ACT/SAT is a really low for a school like Georgia Tech. The average ACT was 33 last year.

No the average wasn’t 33 ACT.

It was 31.

Middle 50 was 30/33.

@ClarinetDad16 Where did you get that stat?

The 2015 freshman profile found here shows 30/33 as middle 50%.

The article here says that this year’s (2016) early admit group did indeed have an average ACT of 33.

However, Tech’s yield rate is somewhat low, and an admitted group with an average 33 could certainly turn into an enrolled freshman class with an average 31.
