So everything started to go downhill during sophomore year, but i want to know if i have a chance of getting into NYU, University of San Diego, Santa Clara University, San Jose state, or any UC. I know that all of these Universities are a reach, but i just want to know if i still have a chance. I also plan on retaking calculus during the summer, i don’t know if it will help a lot, but i think it might improve my GPA a little bit.
Thanks.
High Reach 0-20
NYU, UCB, UCLA, UCSD, UCD, UCI, UCSB
Low Reach 20-40
USD, UCSC, UCR
High Match 40-60

I’m actually not quite certain about SJSU and SCU.
You should do more volunteering and ECs. I can tell you’re trying really hard to take difficult classes to prove your capabilities, but I have some advice as someone who had a similar experience to yours in my fresh/soph year.
Take classes you can handle and make a balanced schedule. For example, I don’t understand why you took AB after doing poorly in Precalc. Maybe you’re trying to prove you’re smart. And you are smart. But you don’t need to prove it by taking a bunch of APs if you’re not going to be able to manage the classes.
And I don’t want to make you lose hope. Even if you don’t get into these colleges, you can do well in community college and transfer. My friend’s sister transferred from community college to UCLA. It’s cheaper and easier to get in.
Expand your ECs, volunteer, make a balanced schedule, take SAT1 and 2s and don’t give up.
You will not get into any UC with any D’s or F’s on your record, plus you need to fulfill the a-g courses with a C or better for your application to be considered. Even the Cal States will be a problem, unless you have grade validation for the D or F. For the Privates such as USD, SCU and even NYU, your chances are really slim unless you retake some of those classes. If you are unable to get your GPA up, going the CC route may be a good option. If you use TAG at the CC, you can transfer into a UC within 2-3 years. You also need to take the SAT and ACT with a competitive score to go along with a decent GPA. Good Luck and try to work on all the problems.
Sorry F’s and Ds won’t get you accepted
