I was wondering what my chances were at getting into Bowdoin College. I'm planning on applying early decision there in a month because I really love the school, especially the science programs. Here's what I have to work with...

A highlight of mine is that I created an event called the Cape Cod Shark Paddle. It is a series of stand up paddle board races to raise money for Shark Research. I organized it for the past 2 years and raised about $2150. I even got written up in the paper because of it. Now, I am the Youth Outreach Coordinator for the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

I am really strong in the extracurricular activities. I am the varsity cross country captain and have been doing cross country for 4 years. I ran winter track for 2 years and, spring track for a year, and spring crew for 2 years. I usually had a sport every season except when I had a chronic injury and skipped a season of winter track. I am a coxswain for our girls varsity crew team as well. I have been on student council and student senate for 3 years, I'm in green club, and have been in the school band for 4 years. I went to a science camp this year over the summer for week (I'm not sure if this helps).

I have gotten some awards including the Tufts Science award and got second place at a speech contest held by the Lions Club. I am part of the Honor Society. I also had about 130 hours of community service last year as I volunteer at a Retirement Home every week for 3 hours.

In terms of numbers I have a 3.88 GPA and got a 1940 on my SATs. I am fully aware that these are on the lower side but hope that everything else makes up for it. I have taken AP classes and a lot of honors classes. I would love some opinions! Thanks!
