Hi, I'm currently a junior in high school and my lifetime goal and dream is to be a director and filmmaker. Currently, my top schools to go to are UCLA, USC, WESLEYAN, COLUMBIA, & NYU TISCH. These colleges would make my heart melt if they accepted me, especially nyu tisch. However, I'm a very anxious persona and I worry a lot. Therefore, I feel as though i may not make it in with what I am working with. Currently, as I said before, I'm a junior in high school, and I am taking one AP class, which is AP English. I am also taking Honors History, Regular Algebra 2, and Regular Chemistry as my academics. My electives include Media 2 and and a business course (which is required) as well as an Honors Art Major class. My GPA is about a 3.94, but this first marking period I only have 2 A's and the rest are B's. However, I still have plenty of time before the marking period ends to get my grades up.

I don't do sports, since I don't understand how sports should be affiliated with performing arts. However, my parents tell me that colleges look for kids who do sports because they make you well-rounded. I, however, think that colleges are looking for consistency.

My extracurricular activities currently involve Private Art Classes, Art Club, National Art Honors Society, French National Honors Society, Global Connections (a club that is involved with solving global issues. We are currently trying to build a school in Ghana), Rebel (Anti-smoking and anti-drug club), and I am currently trying to become the founder and president of a "film club" which my school currently doesn't have.

I also have done an internship over the summer with a NY Times best-selling author, and am going to start another internship with a film restoration company in November.

I have also made several short films throughout my high school career and in the process of competing in two film festivals.

One thing I'm worried about are the SATS. I received my PSAT scores last year, and it was far from great. I believe I shouldn't be reaching for the stars, but I would like to get a solid 1800-2400. However, is an 1800-1900 good? Is it solid? I have no idea.

Anyway, this where I am at in my high school career, and I have no idea if my colleges listed above would accept me and if I'm "well-rounded" at all.

Any advice, suggestions, etc. would help tremendously!
