Too early to tell. For guidance: your potential majors are in the Arts & Sciences college (for UIUC you apply to both a particlar college and major). The university heavily relies on class rank and ACT or SAT test score (SAT II's are not used). Essays and EC's take on importance for people who are borderline. For A&S, the typical middle 50% range of admittees have a class rank ranging from top 18% to top 7% and ACT scores ranging from 26-31. In other words, if class rank is top 12% and ACT 28, you would be about the average student admitted to A&S.

Would you be applying to UIUC in-state or out-of-state? If you'll be applying in-state, then you'll have a very good chance of getting in as long as you get a 29 or above on your ACT. Even if you apply out-of-state, you'll have a pretty good chance of getting in. One thing you should keep in mind is that UIUC uses rolling admissions, so by applying as early as possible, you can increase your chances of getting in.

i'm confused - how do you have a PSAT score of 260? the old scoring format was used this year, and besides, the scores had not been released the day you started this thread...
