I also moved twice during my H.S year from fla to Alaska back to Florida
dealt with 5 deaths to close relatives within my 10th and 11th grade.

what are my chances ? and where do I tell them about moving and deaths in my family?

I think your ec s are very good, did you try taking the SAT? maybe you should also re take your ACT. On the essay for your application you should probably mention the deaths in your family |(sorry about that), maybe you could even focus your essay on how you had to mature and become more independent because of this event and tell them everything you needed to overcome. Try conveying that you grew from all this tragedy.

According to the College Board website the middle 50% of the students had an ACT of 23 - 28, so even if you don’t get a veeeery high score you are still a match for UCF! I hope you get in!

Use the “Additional Information” section of the Common App to explain deaths in the family (NOT the Essay) - typically building your essay around deaths doesn’t come across very well; the admissions officer doesn’t want to feel like a therapist.

Honestly, I’ve never met anyone who’s been rejected by UCF. Their essay topic this year is about facing difficulties so your family deaths could be helpful (btw, I’m very sorry about that). I’m pretty sure you’re a shoe-in. Hope you get in!
