Oh, I forgot to add that I’m the first in my family to go to college in America. But I don’t know if that’ll affect my chances

The UCs really care about GPA, so you will probably be rejected.

Is the GPA supposed to include freshman yr grades & senior yr grades? Or is it only supposed to include sophomore & junior yr?

@sherlocked4812‌
The GPA for the UCs only includes sophomore and junior year.

Thanks, I didn’t know that. Then my unweighted GPA is 3.67.

Anyone have other opinions?

I think you’ll be accepted. Btw what is

Your class rank?

My high school actually doesn’t tell us our class rank, but I’d estimate it to be top 15%

Calculate your Weighted UC GPA, see link:<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
If your UC GPA is 4.0 with your ACT score, you have a good chance.

The first generation that I know were accepted to UCLA has one B or two Bs at most, so I wouldn’t count too much on the first generation.

UCSD maybe. UCLA and Berkeley are very tough. Are you a citizen or permanent resident? It does make a difference.

My UC GPA is a 3.9 & I’m a citizen.

UCSD, UCSB, UCDavis, UCI, UCSC are good because of that ACT score. UCLA and Berkeley and just too tough based on your GPA and low AP scores (compared to other California kids).

Based on the replies, I’ll apply for UCLA & UCB as my reach schools then. Here’s to hoping [-O< Thanks for all the replies guys. They all helped a lot.

I’ll check the previous year admit rate for UC GPA, IIRC, UCSD was slightly lower than UCLA but not much, something like 4.13 vs 4.17. UCs care a lot more about GPA than standardized test scores.

You should apply to UCSB because it seems to be the only UC that really favors students with high test scores. I had a 2300 SAT score and a low 4.00 UCGPA. Among the mid-tier and high-tier UCs, UCSB was the only UC that accepted me. UCB, UCLA, and UCSD were also my dream schools. :((

mangia, did you get any money with that SAT score, just curious.
