I really want to get into UCLA. What do you think my chances are? Any personal experiences?
I have a 3.92 academic GPA and a 4.41 weighted GPA. I have about 130 community service hours, and I’m involved in volleyball for school. I served as an intern for the KCC (Korean Church Coalition) by going to Washington D.C and participating in meetings with Congressmen and Senators and telling them about why sanctions should be passed against North Korea. I got a 30 on my ACT and I take these classes as a junior right now:
English 3 Higher Level(HL) 1, got a B in first semester
Honors/IB Math Analysis, got an A
AP Biology, got a B+
AP US History, got an A-,
Health, got an A+
Photo as Art, got an A
I also noted that since UC doesn’t count freshmen year, I have a 3.87 academic GPA and 4,40 weighted GPA not counting 9th grade.
That might look pretty solid, but I think that I am a little lacking in extracurriculars. Do I have a good chance of getting into UCLA?
What is your UC GPA? https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
Intended major? ACT is good but a bit low for UCLA.
Your ACT is well above average for UCLA. 43% of attending students below a 30.
The average is a 28. If you are instate you should get in.

You also have to consider the averages included recruited athletes, hooked applicants, special circumstances, so they are not always a good representation. The average ACT for admits was 31 last year but for UCLA a 32+ is usually a solid score.
Yes the link says the middle 50% of enrolled students is 26 - 33 with an average of 29. The OP is nicely positioned in the middle 50% and above average. Other sources show an average of 28.
UC schools except berkeley don’t really expect a really high SAT or ACT score if you have a high GPA. Also, on the UC app, you can only enter in five extracurricular activities. Just do what you really like and write about them in the essays - that is what the UCs schools really want. Other than those, you have a great chance.
