Junior year:
- 3.88 gpa weighted (only 1st semester) (1 AP class at school, and 1 AP class I'm taking at home as extra, 1 honors)
- key club, asnt club, nhs, csf, and volunteer at local hospital (100 hours so far), basketball club president at local community

What is your unweighted GPA? Your weighted GPA is not nearly as important because many schools weight GPA’s differently. Have you taken the SAT or ACT yet? Without standardized test scores it is hard to determine your chances.

We can let you know if you GPA is competitive enough, but again, we would need to know your unweighted GPA. The average unweighted GPA for last year’s admits was 3.80. If you are around there, you GPA is probably competitive enough. It would then probably come down to other components of your profile. If you are slightly lower, you still may have a decent shot if other factors of your application are strong.

Another thing to consider is that it could be that hooked applicants (URMs, legacies, athletes, etc.) drag down the average GPA, so if you are unhooked you may need a higher GPA to really be competitive, but this is speculative and probably not worth worrying over.

Hey, did you take the ACT without writing or with writing? Cause as far as I know, the Feb ACT is only without writing. If so, re-take it with a writing test or colleges don’t accept it.

I recently received my ACT, which was a 29. I will probably be taking it again before the school year is over. Also, my GPA unweighted is on the low side, 3.68…
