I'm really kinda worried about getting into UT. My GPA is pretty bad (35%), and I have little to no volunteer hours, and I waited until the last day to turn in my application. But I am in a pretty competitive school, and I did relatively well on my SAT/ACTs (2120,32 composite), and I heard that applying to the Jackson School of Geosciences would give me a better chance of getting in (my minor is Physics at the College Of Natural Sciences). Do you think I have a good chance of getting in?

No EC’s and second quarter?

Nope.

You won’t get in. You will get CAPed. If you really want to go to UT, this is not a bad thing. Go to UTSA for a year, do good, get the major you want at UT. That’ what I did.

It’s a good transition into college and the dorms are WAY nicer (private bedroom & bathroom & nice)

Well I had a major surgery which really effected my uhhhhh ability to do things for the whole of the sophmore-junior summer, and most of the junior year. Oh well, I’ll just goto somewhere like UH, UTSA or UTD and then just try to transfer =)

lol i get the feeling that a ton of people out of the top 10 applied for geosciences this year thinking they were going to be smart and use a backdoor school, and this strategy is probably going to backfire completely because of that hahahaha

lmao redhotsrock, but that sucks for the people who actually want to major in a geoscience.

which dorm at UTSA is that nice?

agreed onthefly, it sucks especially because I’m one of them :(
