We can’t really chance you without test scores, but your freshman GPA is very low…did something happen in that period of your life? If so explain that

Yh ur freshman yr gpa is a bit low

Sent from my iPhone using CC :)

Are you from California? You listed CC coursework? Transfers from California get priority over transfers from OOS. That freshman grade is counted in your overall GPA, which might be a sticky issue for some colleges especially the UC’s which are inundated with 4.0 in state students. There is limited aid in public colleges in California.

I am a CA high school student , but i do CC course work through a program at my local CC. Freshman year was just overwhelmed by sports and the fact i was having a lot of home problems in regards to money and some depression i went through. i plan on boosting my 10th gpa by redoing low courses and i am trying to see what if any 9th grade course work i can retake.

Are you looking at programs like Questbridge and Posse Foundation?

Are you recruitable as an athlete?

I have seen many posters who had very low stats their first year or so and they tend to not bring up their numbers as much as the want. Not to be rude, but my guess is that your GPA will not increase by an entire point (especially with an increased rigor) and you are very likely to get some 2s and 3s on AP exams, APUSH is a very hard exam for example. You also currently have no community service or leadership.

Realistically you won’t get into any ivies/top 20 schools. Focus on grades and you can probably get into a good school, just not to the extent of a top 20.
