Everything looks solid. If you were to apply ED, you have a superb chance at admission. Even as an RD applicant, your application is stellar! Best of luck.

Thanks! I’m definitely considering applying ED!

I think you have a great chance, especially applying ED. Good luck!

It looks like you’ll be an outstanding applicant, though remember you’ll be in for greater competition since you’re coming from OOS (especially if you are female). I would say you have a great shot if your application is strong; if there’s anything you’ll fall victim to it’s just the quirkiness of the admissions process.

Thanks for your input! Yeah, I expect the OOS competition and yep I’m female.
If I might ask, what exactly do you mean by “the quirkiness of the admissions process” ? Just curious haha

We like that you’re interest in W&M and considering ED. It’s an easy place to fall in love with (at least we think so). Others are correct, out-of-state competition is stiff since we have so many applicants applying for a smaller percentage of our incoming class. Where most students distinguish themselves is in their more intangible qualities so take advantage of the opportunities to tell us about yourself (i.e. the essay, the letters of recommendation, and optional components like the interview, fine arts supplement, and optional additional submission). It’s in these areas that students become memorable to the deans.

What I mean by quirkiness is that competitive institutions see far more qualified applicants than they have room to admit. Seemingly stellar students are turned down by top institutions every year because the decisions are made taking into account more abstract qualities. You have a very competitive resume and this will certainly weigh favorably on the admission committee, but W&M attracts many others like you and you will still have to demonstrate why you are a good fit through your submissions. The evaluation of your overall fit can be highly subjective and that is why I describe the process (at all competitive institutions, not just W&M) as quirky.

Like W&M Admissions recommends, make yourself stick out to the person who reads your file.
