I was wondering my chances for Georgia Tech
AP: 9- Human Geo, World History, Lang, Calc AB, Chem, Latin, Gov, Macroecon, Calc 2 (I’ll take the BC test, but it’s a higher up class)
GPA: Unweighted- 3.9 Weighted- 4.1
All honors classes
Top 4% of my class.
Georgia Merit Scholar
I made a 29 on my ACT, which was my first time and I didn’t study. I plan to retake it again before early admission. I bought the book, and I believe I will be in the thirties range.
Clubs and Extracurriculars:
-Junior Classical League- 4 yrs
-Mu Alpha Theta- 4yrs
-Student Council- 4 yrs (right now I am parliamentarian)
-I created a new club this year, which I will be president of. A kindness for all club
-Orchestra- 4 years

  • Varsity Lacrosse- (Freshman and Sophomore)
  • Freshman volleyball team
    -Part of a mentoring program my Sophomore year
    -FCA- Fellowship of Christain Athletes- One year
    -Beta Club for 2 years
    -Volunteering Club for 2 years
    Volunteering:
  • At a Daycare for two summers
    -USGS (United States Geological Survey) this summer
    -Blood Drives each year
    about 300 hours in community service
    worked at Chickfila for about 7 months
    Race: Hispanic
    Sex: Female
    I plan to get into materials engineering
    Do conventions matter? I went to a few.
    I believe I will have good recommendations as well.

OP, you are in-state, high GPA, OK ECs and number of APs, URM, need a little bounce on SAT/ACT - you are in by my estimates. Good luck !

You’re a solid candidate but you really need to get your ACT score up.

If you have a 2200+ SAT or 32-33+ ACT, I’d say you’re in.

You’re in. Minority+female= easy admission to tech. But bring up your score to secure that

You have a very good chance of getting in! I think if you can raise your ACT score by 2 points, at least, then your chances will be near safety level!
