<p>I guess if your counselor explains why your school dosen't offer APs and it wasn't possible to go to a neighboring high school to take the classes you shouldn't be hurt by that because of your SATs scores and class rank.</p>

<p>should i write the optional essay about why i consider Duke a good match for me? argh...having enough trouble with the required ones.</p>

<p>Yeah, I would do the optional essays...they don't have to be as long as your main one. Mine were short (1-2 paragraphs each), they were more short-answers than essays.</p>
