Hi I'm a Asian American senior at Jericho High School and I was just wondering what my chances are for stony brook.

GPA: 3.3-3.5 (Unweighted) after first semester 3.115(unweighted) of my first 3 years
SAT: 1800 (620 Math 600 Reading)
Extra Curricular: Volunteer at local park for Special Olympics, Manager of School Store, Marching Band for all 4 high school years
AP taken: AP Comp, AP US, AP Psych (taking this semester)
4 years of English, Science, Social Studies, Math, Foreign Language, Electives

Also I was just wondering if I'm applying for priority should Stony Brook have received my application and supplements before December 1st or should I send it all before December 1st?

oh PS my first quarter grades are seen with my transcript right? because that definitely helps out my GPA.

Considering December 1 is tomorrow, if you haven’t sent anything yet, it’s going to be hard for us to have received anything by December 1. That said, just get all the pieces in; there’s no strict deadline for anything. Just get everything in as expediently as you can.

As to the first quarter grades question, that’s up to your school. You’ll have to ask your counselor if those are included. Not every school sends them.

Your chances are great, in my opinion.
Your SAT is WELL within the ballpark apparently, and your GPA is decent. Your coursework looks great. Early or not, in my opinion, you have a awesome shot at this school.

“Priority” is in time only, not decision. All admissions decisions are made under the same metrics, and EA decisions start going out Jan 1, everyone else starts going out Feb 1. Don’t worry about “priority.”
