Essays should be good. It’s the only thing I was satisfied with on my SAT score lol.

I admittedly struggle with the reading section but have scored around 750 Math both times when taking the PSAT and knew I blew the section as soon as I took the SAT. Took it without a refresher course and while not enrolled in a math class. Knew I could do the problems just couldn’t remember how! Will take again before applying. Took the SAT cold, taking September ACT with prep course!

Thanks again to whoever offers an opinion!

You are in!!!

Yeah you're in.

I'd say you have a good shot, greater than 50%, but not in for sure...I know last year they did not consider the SAT writing score at all, so you may want to retake it and focus on the math and reading part...but everything else looks good!

I would definately say you are in, especially being in state.

i think you have a great chance, but why are you applying regular decision? EA is non-binding and at UNC your chances improve significantly if you apply early.

UNC-CH isnt my first choice and i will be applying elsewhere ED binding. Its more of a 1-A as i would never call or use Chapel Hill as a "safety" because I realize I could certainly be denied admission, with UNC being such a selective school.

Are you sure you can't apply EA as well? Where are you applying ED?

dare i say it...Duke will be my first choice and where i apply ED

you shouldn't have said it. ;)
and you can apply EA at another school..it's non-binding.

i'm in the same boat as you, 1st choice duke, 2nd choice carolina. in state i'd say you are a lock for carolina, and go ahead and do early there, too, since (like everybody else has said) it isn't binding so you're allowed to.

btw, i am doing ED at duke as well.....and our GPA is the same weighted.... we shall have to see how things turn out in december. good luck!
