Essays should be good. Its the only thing I was satisfied with on my SAT score lol.

I admittedly struggle with the reading section but have scored around 750 Math both times when taking the PSAT and knew I blew the section as soon as I took the SAT. Took it cold and while not enrolled in a math class. Knew I could do the problems just couldnt remember how!

Taking September ACT and October Sub Tests, both with prep course! Much more comfordtable with ACT! Probably take SAT 1 once more as well.

Which school at NYU do you intend to apply to? I think for CAS your stats would be ok, but Stern may be a bit of a reach. Good luck with your ACT and SAT II's!

Yeh, i would be trying to go into stern! Is the test score right now what's making it a reach instead of a match?...Thanks for the input

Stern (along with Tisch) is one of the most competitive schools at NYU, which is why I asked.

Your SAT score by itself (obviously not bad at all!) may just not stack up compared to what your fellow applicants may bring to the table in conjunction with your extra-curriculars (not bad, but not necessarily eye catching in regard to your leadership & community service experiences). All this may put you in that "Stern reach" area.

I would try to possibly add an internship of sorts with a financial institution perhaps; something that demonstrates a broader interest in business or something like that. Right now most of your extra curriculars appear athletics by default related.

Just trying to be really "conservative" here; you may have some awesome essays that will blow everyone away, and at the end of the day, I don't work in admissions :D. Once thing that I do know however, is that with the applicant pool out there, it is important to be as well-rounded and interesting as you can be. :).

I think your overall appeal is extremely good. I also would add an internship in the business world.

Let's hope you get that math score back up to a 750, because 650 is just way too low for Stern. And see if you can improve on the reading setion too. Overall tho, a 2050 isn't a bad score. I'd say you'd be in for CAS. Definitely a reach. Get the most you can out of the prep courses.

With a better SAT score- though I am no authority in admissions- I'd say your chances are pretty good!
