I’m a junior, with cal poly slo as my number 1 choice, so I am going to apply ED (I understand that it is binding, really want to go to cal poly). My GPA is not stellar, and I don’t know what my ACT score is, and haven’t taken SAT (but will). What do you think my chances are?

Find your MCA Score with eyemgh’s first post here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/cal-poly-san-luis-obispo/1694769-confused-about-mca-score-p1.html
Definitely look at the MCA score calculation, and fill in any areas where you can pick up some easy points. i.e. leadership in a EC. Job related to major is a plus you already have. Get that GPA up as much as possible - this is the last semester that will count for your application. (CPSLO does not include freshmen grades - is your GPA just soph/jr? -i t might help you if your first year grades are dragging your GPA down). Good for you for trying to get ahead of the game.
Just a side note: learn how to spell your major.
SLO does use 9th grades in their GPA calculation (only Cal State that does).
From SLO website for Freshman requirements:
Academic Performance
College prep GPA Calculated by Cal Poly for 9th -11th grade coursework designated on the application (with honors points granted for courses designated as “honors,” “college,” “advanced placement" or “international baccalaureate” on a high school transcript, for up to eight semesters).
Kinesiology has around a 15% acceptance rate so you want to have top grades and test scores for the best chances.
