My chances to get into UW?

<p>I just submitted my Fall 2010 application to the University of Washington Seattle campus last week and set up my whole MyUW account. I'm here wondering if I have a shot at getting in.</p>

<p>[In-state applicant]
GPA: 3.74 (Top 8%)
SAT: 1670 (1110 CR+M)
Extracurriculars:
- I'm the A&E editor for my school's paper. We were just awarded with a Pacemaker (basically the Pulitzer Prize of H.S. journalism), and placed 2nd at the national convention in 2009.
- I've played soccer every year of high school and ran cross country my junior year. I have a varsity letter in both.
- Member of National Honor Society
- Part-time job ever since I was sixteen.
- Camp counselor 9th grade at a bible camp.</p>

<p>That sums up everything except the writing section, which I'm confident I did well on. My personal statement was about the paper. I wrote the cultural essay about there being another type of discrimination in high school outside of race and religion, which is popularity. Then I wrote a quick 3 paragraphs in the additional section explaining the 2 C's I got my freshman year and how I've changed since.</p>

<p>In a nut shell, that's my application. Do I have a chance?</p>

<p>It looks like you are right in the middle … but it does depend on some things that you did not mention like what kind of AP classes you have taken.</p>

<p>I took AP English Lang & Comp my junior year (aced it).</p>

<p>Up until then I took honors english and science classes, but this year I’ve taken no special placement courses.</p>

<p>And yeah, I took a look at those admission stats a couple of days ago and if anything it made me realize that I don’t have much that really sticks out. That’s why I’m hoping my essays help.</p>

<p>Umm i think you have a decent shot. Your SAT seems to be pretty low though. I would say retake it. But other than that, write good essays. I would say you got in… of course its only my opinion. Nothing more to say really. <p>CR: 650
M: 530
W: 600
Total: 1780.</p>

<p>With that in mind, have my chances improved you guys think?</p>
