Hello,

1st year engine student at Uni of Auckland, 49th in world, bangladeshi international, Permanent resident here(NZ). High school graduated 2005.

Looking to enter US school which offers very good financial aid. Applied to cream last year stupidly and rejected from all, though Harvard deferred me. Since I'm not finished 1 year of college yet, can apply as freshman. I have 2 places rite now, but pls suggest some more. 1st, stats.

Grades
A levels - 5 A out of 5, with mean percentage of 90%
O level - 8 A out 0f 8 ( no mean given, but mocks I had 90.33%)
SATI - Cr 680 Math 800 Wrt 730
SATII - Math lv1 740 Physics 800 Math lv2 800
No GPA, 2nd out of 24( unfairly, becoz 1st sem exams, which is final one before A level, I got higher than 1st person by about 11%)

EC ( suck)

Prefect, organiser, captain of house soccer team
member 1st XI soccer - 1.5years( i was at this school for 1.5 and made it immediately)
member dragonboat team
special olympics official, did unofficial tutoring and mentoring work
received scholarship to study at my school.
athletics silver, bronze medallist
Only high school student in country to attend Maths-in-industry conference, where I worked with Australasian Maths professors and lecturers in modelling a new type of plane.

College: Habitat for Humanity member
recently joined Mensa
tutoring again, but now professionally

Work:
1 year in call centre
3 months as management trainee in a fast food restaurant
tutor for 5 months

This year I havent done anything as engineering takes a lot out of you.

My places are:
Yale - big reach
Pepperdine- match/reach, ( i know they dont have engine there, will od sumtin else)

My ECs suck partly of my background, as being a new migrant its' hard to get chances to do stuff and be recognised nationally/internationally, and my parents, who are very traditional/conservative just get good grades ppl, and prevent me from doing some ECs cos they thought I wud exhaust myself.
What places mite suit me?
