My chances @ UVM!

GPA: 3.2 (it will be a bit higher soon because there is an error in my transcript)

ACT: Composite-28 (english 27, reading 30, math 27, science 27), Writing - 10/12

I've taken Honors Earth Science, Honors American Literature & Comp, accelerated math since 7th grade, Honors World Lit & Comp, AP European History (I got a 3 on the AP test which is 8 credits @ MSU), AP Psychology (5 on the AP test, I think 4 credits @ MSU)

My senior year I'm taking AP Statistics, AP World History, AP English Lit, Geology (for college credit), Spanish III, Economics, and a ceramics class.

I played tennis for three years, i've been playing the piano since i was seven, part of the InterAct club (volunteer group), summer job where students run a business, and ski club since sixth grade.

I also participated in Girls State this summer at Michigan State University for a week. Only 300 girls from the state of Michigan were selected to go.

OH yeah, and I'm an OOS girl if that helps at all.

With an ACT score of 28 you have a good chance of getting into UVM. I would like to say that your high school course load is much more rigorous than the students I met when I attended there.

Ok thanks. I also got an email saying that I get a VIP application. What does that mean and does everybody else get it too?

Many good students get it but certainly not everyone. Its a good deal - no fee, and early review (within 3 weeks of submission). Makes UVM essentially rolling admissions - which is great if UVM is a place you would want to be. Better check with your parents, though - UVM ain’t cheap.

The earlier you send in the VIP application, the better the chance to get a reply in the three week period. My S sent it in later when all the RD apps were coming in and it took longer than the three weeks.
