My Chances?

Hello,

I plan to apply to Johns Hopkins University this year, and I was wondering if I could have some help figuring out where I stand in terms of admissions. I posted before; however, this is much more final and updated information.

SAT 1:

Reading: 700
Math: 800
Writing: 800
Essay: 11
Composite: 2300

SAT 2:

Chem: 800
US History: 780
Phyics: will take
Math 2: will take

ACT: This was from AprilI believe, so I think I might take it again. Im not sure if I need to, considering my SAT score. Should I retake it?

Math: 34
Reading: 32
Writing: 33
Science:30
Composite: 32

GPA:

unweighted: 4.0
weighted: aprox. 4.7

My class schedule has been fairly rigourous, for I've taken as many honors and AP classes as I could, and my senior schedule is almost entirely AP.

I have many service hours and two presidential awards, along with 3 other volunteer awards, and I have a leadership position with the organization I volunteer with. I also volunteer at a hospital.

I plan on applying ED, and I also plan to give an art portfolio because art plays a big part of my life and I feel I have a pretty good portfolio.

I also feel that my extracuriculars (robotics with leadership, SKB, NHS, NAHS, Asian american club, volunteering, Science Reasearch camps) are pretty good, and I feel i'll have good essays and reccomendations

I just want a rough estimate of my chances, any input will be greatly appreciate
Thank you!

I personally think you have a really high chance of getting in esp since you are applying ED. You have the grades and test scores.

Thanks! Do you think it is necessary for me to retake the ACT at this point?

^dont retake the ACT that will just show that you are too focused on just standardized tests. Your SAT score is good enough. I think your EC’s show passion through your art portfolio, so that is good…overall I think you stand a very good shot at getting accepted and ED only helps.

Thanks! What are my weaknesses, and what can I do to maximize my chances?

Don’t submit the ACT, your SAT score is beastly enough :D

You will get in! I have no doubt!

you should have no problem getting into jhu. especially if you apply ED

Thank you! One last question, will ED affect financial aid?

Although it is logical for JHU to give you less financial aid if you apply ED (since if you are accepted, then you are binded to matriculating regardless of how much financial aid they give you), I got in ED and received a fair amount of financial aid.
