you look like an incredibly awesome candidate to me! i don't really know so much about OOS acceptance stats, but i'm in-state and there are sooo many people i know who are there who don't have nearly the stats that you do. and, btw, i do cross country and music too. we rock! good luck :)

johngphillips---so i should keep my mouth shut when i am not well-informed, i know. i am still allowed to offer words of encouragement, though, right?

in all seriousness, though, gogoomaparis i really do think you are a strong candidate, OOS or no. since when was a 600-something SAT score considered low? (unless we're talkin ivy league, those scores are definitely good, esp. since the others are nearly 700 or better) the 800 on korean sat2 is very impressive and it is obvious that you have a very diverse cultural background that would add much to any university (being international and well-versed in several languages) also, the music ec stuff is particularly awesome and will stand out. good luck! i hope you get in. if you don't, though, i can tell you (growing up in nc with nothing but carolina shoved down my throat) that there are plenty of other schools out there that are just as awesome. i'm shooting for OOS myself....

thru_hiker, unc oos is definately is as hard (hpy) if not harder to get into that all the ivies (the other 5). You underestimate the selectivity of the OOS pool. The admissions % for oos students is less than 20%.
